Presentation: Bridging the Gap Between System Integrators/Operators and Semiconductor Suppliers on the road to achieving Clean Power 2030 and beyond

This presentation will explore the essential yet often overlooked collaboration between system integrators/operators and the semiconductor supply chain. As power electronics become the backbone of renewable energy systems, grid modernisation, and energy storage solutions, the traditional siloed approach is proving inadequate to meet ambitious clean energy targets.

The semiconductor industry must align with the rapid deployment needs of clean energy projects. Meanwhile, system integrators require specialised semiconductor solutions optimised for renewable applications but often can’t effectively communicate these requirements.

This presentation will focus on successful collaboration models, highlighting how early engagement, shared roadmaps, and cross-industry standards can accelerate innovation cycles. We’ll explore case studies where collaborative approaches have been successful, leading to improved UK benefits and system performance. Additionally, we’ll outline a framework for how to sustain this collaboration through 2030 and beyond.

By forging stronger bonds between these industries, we can unlock new efficiencies, overcome technical barriers, and ultimately accelerate the clean energy transition to meet our global climate goals.
