Director of the Bragg Centre for Materials Research at the University of Leeds, Chair of Terahertz Electronics in the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and co-leads the ‘Atoms to Devices’ research area of the Henry Royce Institute

Edmund’s research explores the science and technology of the terahertz frequency region of the electromagnetic spectrum, and has a specific focus on the development and applications of terahertz frequency quantum cascade lasers. He has more than 30 years’ expertise in the molecular beam epitaxial growth, fabrication and measurement of compound semiconductor electronic and opto-electronic devices.
