SUMMARY:R&D Showcase: Integrating Wide Bandgap and High Performance Silicon Semiconductors into Systems
DESCRIPTION:Progress in wide bandgap semiconductors is opening up significant market opportunities in high performance electronic systems. However\, to ensure maximum performance impact\, this is creating significant challenges and opportunities in system design and integration that affects the entire value chain. At the same time\, the application of systems thinking to high performance silicon-based systems are also developing at a rapid pace. \nRecent Technology and business roadmapping by Powerelectronics UK has shown that there is considerable UK industrial and academic R&D activity across the high performance system value chain from materials growth through to system integration. \nThe purpose of this workshop is to showcase key R&D projects that are being carried out within the UK community\, covering the supply chain and engaging key end markets such as Automotive\, Aerospace and Energy. \nThe aim of the workshop is therefore not only to communicate current innovation activity\, but provide the community a platform from which to collaborate and develop new ideas and projects. \nDraft Agenda\n10:00  Registration\, Coffee and Networking \n10:30  Welcome and Introduction – NMI & Cranfied University \n11.00   GaN electronics: what can epitaxy enable\n– Trevor Martin\, IQE \n11.25   The PowerGaN Consortium – Current Status and Future Plans\n– Iain Thayne\, University of Glasgow \n11.50  GaN on Si Development for Lighting and Novel LED Applications\n– David Wallis\, Plessey Semiconductor \n12.15     Long term  reliability in harsh environments\n– Rob Coleman\, Semelab \n12.40 – 14.00      Lunch \n14.00  Theme of Widebandgap systems integration in Automotive\n– Luke Evans\, Jaguar Land-Rover \n14.25   Using Nanostructures to Tailor GaN Based Light Emitting Diodes to Meet System Requirements\n– Duncan Allsopp\, University of Bath \n14.50  Advances in Reliable Low Cost SiC Power Devices\n– Peter Ward\, Anvil Semiconductors                                                                   \n15.15  Progress towards PE technology white paper” and “diamond – the missing link for carbon electronics\n– Gareth Taylor\, Evince \n15:40  Event Close \n  \nSponsorship Opportunities\nFor sponsorship opportunities\, please contact Alastair McGibbon. \n  \n\n[button type=”transparent” shape=”square” size=”mini” float=”right” href=”” info=”none” info_place=”top” info_trigger=”hover” style=”font-size: 20px;font-color: white;”]Print[/button]

SUMMARY:ISO 26262 Internal Auditor (Internal FSMS Auditor)
DESCRIPTION:“This practical five-day course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to perform internal audits of functional safety management systems (FSMS).” \nYou will learn how to: \n\nPlan\, conduct and report an FSMS internal audit\nRead and understand the ISO 26262 standard in the context of conducting an audit\nCreate an audit schedule for ISO 26262\nAudit your company’s procedures against ISO 26262 requirements\nAudit your company’s work products against your company’s procedures\nCheck that non-conformities have been followed-up\n\nand much more… \nThe course includes: \n\nAn extensive pre-course package to prepare you for the course\nIn-depth lectures mixed with interactive group work\nExtensive practical auditing exercises\nCertificate for successful completion\n\nPre-requisite knowledge: delegates are expected to have a background in QMS auditing although this is not essential as the basics will be covered. A working knowledge of the requirements of ISO 26262 is advantageous although an introduction to the standard will be given. \n  \nNMI Members will receive a 10% discount. Please contact Rachel Palmer to request a promotional code to receive this discount.
